The Square One Crew

BRIEF HISTORY: Nick was born in a small lean-to on the fabled rustic outskirts of Reno, Nevada. He dropped out of school in the 5th grade to join a nationally touring circus led by his murderous uncle, Fortunado. After Fortunado, met with an undignified and scandalous end, Nick came to Lancaster with the intent of enrolling in the Lancaster Men's Institute of Exotic Dance and Serpent Handling. He sought employment at Square One upon realizing that such an institution doesn't yet exist.

BRIEF HISTORY: Lost at a young age during a family trip to the Serengeti, Sheri was taken in by a herd of gazelle. Being raised by these magnificent creatures for part of her youth made her graceful, swift and exceptionally alert. Even though she was eventually found by a tour group and reunited with her family in Lancaster, she still retains these qualities to this day. On her first outing in the city of Lancaster, Sheri resorted back to her herd instincts and followed the masses to Square One, where she decided to seek employment.

BRIEF HISTORY: Ryan grew up in the mountains of Nepal, living off of the tender meat of feeble rams and the occasional abandoned eagle egg. As time went on, Ryan grew tired of endlessly competing with bears and natives for food so he struck out to find a more civilized life. He ended up sneaking aboard a cargo plane full of muffins and other delightful pastries and was consequently flown to the U.S. After teaching him basic table manners, personal hygiene, and customer service skills, Josh and Jess decided he was ready to learn "the dance of the barista." And he's been dancing ever since.

BRIEF HISTORY: Lived in Lancaster, go to school in Philly, fondly picked up the nickname as little sister of the night crew

BRIEF HISTORY: I escaped from a high security mental institution, hitchhiked to Lancaster and took refuge in the basement of a small privately owned pipe wrench factory controlled by rabid puppies. Eventually, I grew tired of their communist ways and sought work at Square One.

BRIEF HISTORY: After inventing coffee, I decided to take it easy and just distribute the fine beverage. I currently work at Square One and switch my college major every semester.

BRIEF HISTORY: After the destruction of her home planet, Lindabot traveled the galaxy in search of the perfect place of refuge. Eventually, she ended up in good old Lancaster City. After arriving on Earth, she realized she would need a source of income to survive....and so began the search. After being turned down multiple times (people seem to have a bought into the stereotype that robots are cold and impersonable) she was hired by the two lovely owners of Square One Coffee.

BRIEF HISTORY (of Josh and Jess): Josh and Jess embarked on their journey into the specialty coffee industry back in 2004. They started with a stand in a local farmer’s market, and, soon, they began roasting their own coffee on-site. Immediately, they were looking to the future and excited about the possibility of owning a full-time café someday. In 2006, they were ecstatic when presented with the opportunity to own the well-established Lancaster City staple, Square One Coffee. Josh and Jess’s dream became a reality on May 1st, 2007, when they became the proud owners of Square One. And they’ve been hangin’ on for the ride ever since!
